Rattan and Woven Furniture made to order in a Bali workshop

Rattan and woven natural fibres are the signature of Bali interiors — light, textural and unmistakably tropical. We make woven furniture to order: lounge and dining chairs, headboards, pendant and floor lighting, room dividers, baskets and accent pieces, all hand-woven over solid frames by weavers who have practiced the craft for years. Choose the weave pattern, the frame shape and a natural, bleached or tinted finish, and it is made to the size your space needs.

What's Included

Hand-Woven Seating

Accents & Baskets

Mirrors, wall pieces, storage baskets and decorative accents to finish a room, woven to match your other pieces.

The Craft Behind Woven Furniture

Good rattan furniture is a craft skill, not a factory product. The frame has to be shaped and joined correctly, the weave has to be even and tight, and the fibre has to be prepared so it keeps its colour and strength. Our weavers work the traditional way, which is why a hand-woven chair holds its shape and tension far longer than mass-produced rattan that loosens within a season.

Rattan pairs beautifully with solid wood: woven dining chairs around a teak table, a rattan headboard on a reclaimed-wood bed, or woven pendants over a custom counter. Combine it with our dining tables, beds and lounge seating for a layered, textural interior. Rattan is best kept in covered or indoor spaces; for full sun and rain, choose our teak outdoor range instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is hand-woven rattan durable?
Yes, when it is made properly. A correctly framed and tightly woven piece holds its shape and tension for years — the difference is the craftsmanship, which is why we weave the traditional way over solid frames.
Can rattan go outdoors?
Rattan is best in covered or indoor spaces. For fully exposed terraces and poolsides we recommend teak outdoor furniture, which is built for sun, rain and salt.
Can you weave a custom pattern or shape?
Yes — choose the weave pattern, frame shape, size and finish. We can also reproduce a woven piece from a photo or adapt a traditional design.
Do woven chairs come with cushions?
Optional — many woven chairs are comfortable bare, but we can add seat and back cushions in your fabric for lounge and dining use.
